BBQ Baked Beans
Description:
This dish is an adaptation based off of New England style baked beans. Over time, baked beans became popular throughout the United States and were adapted to different tastes. It is uncertain where and when barbecue baked beans gained prominence, but it is likely that they became popular in Southern or Midwest cities with a large barbecue culture, such as Kansas City. Barbecue baked beans are a quintessential side dish in barbecue restaurants across the country and pair great with barbecued meats and other side dishes.
Ingredients:
1 can navy beans
1/2 cup (60 g) of brisket burnt ends (see recipe)
3/4 cup (90 g) BBQ sauce (see recipe)
1/2 tbsp mustard (8 g)
1 tsp chili powder (6 g)
1/2 medium onion, diced
1 tsp vegetable oil (5 ml)
Salt & pepper.
